Cut-and-Sew: A Look Into the Works of Nash & Lazy

How do you prefer your sneakers? What’s your favorite platform to work on?
I feel that different types of platforms project a different look and feel. I sort of enjoy challenging myself with different platforms and try to incorporate my style into the design. However, I don’t always achieve what I want.
Although its tough to narrow down a particular favorite, what type of custom methods seem to come more natural to you?
I guess the rip and tear customs would come more natural. As a teenager in the early 90s, I was into Metal, Punk Rock and Grunge music. Also, skateboarding was all about trashing back then, which is probably where my influences for the rip and tear effect came from.
Has your custom work evolved through the years or has it remained fairly consistent?
My custom work has become more mature, minimal and clean. It has evolved with my age.
Would you consider it to go hand in hand with your apparel design?
Yes, it does. But its still within my control. I can always cater my design to different audiences as well.
Commercially, are you doing any type of work?
I haven’t had a chance to work on anything commercially with any major companies yet. I do hope such opportunity will fall on me someday though.
