in this day and age, it really doesn’t matter who actually executes the art work (especially in sculpture). this is not a good criterion to judge art on. one of the best living artists, richard serra, builds absolutely nothing himself. the only thing you can judge art on is how good the art is.

and jeff koons’ art is absolutely terrible. who cares who produces it.

“He is not a true artist.” are u serious. read up on his background. thats like saying an orchestra conductor is no a real musician because hes not playing any instruments. thats a level you reach homie. u think quincy jones was playing instruments on michael jackson albums? Dre has mad producers working under him. it allows you to achieve your ideas on an even bigger scale.

please. everyone in this conversation sounds like a bunch of childern. if you think all the great artist (picasso, matisse, michael angelo, de vinci, van gogh, chihuly, hiroshi fujiwara, Dr. Dre and so on) didn’t have workers up to the 100’s please read some history and retract your comments. A matter of fact a lot of those artist not only had workers but also used projectors of some sort to trace there artwork on the ceilings and walls. Now that you know the secrets, please go and explore and hire yourself a ton of new works and start tracing other people’s artwork and calling it your own.

man, all big artist have their own employee to work on their artworks.
but the ideas and the concept a.k.a the brain still on their own.

He is not a true artist. I agree with dude. It is nothing but a sweat shop; he makes 10 million and they
just get to say they work with him. An artist CREATES Artwork not hire 30 artists to make it for them.
I can understand if you may need help with SOMEthing but having artists do all the work and you claim to have “thought” it up or “create” it is bullshit. You might as well just name your studio a corporation and show it as the Jeff Coon Company where you create stuff under the name of Jeff Koon! He’s not an artist he just has the money to “make art”. I think people create that stuff and whatever idea he likes the most, he puts his name on it. True Artists make and create their artwork, not talk in a camera and show artwork others are making for them to auction like damn corporation showing off their next products for the future.

jeff Koons is such a good artist, but it was disappointing to see all these other people slaving away while he ropes in the prop’s and just strolls around the studio…
