yohji yamamoto salvatore ferragamo Yohji Yamamoto for Salvatore Ferragamo

In a unique pairing of two popular brands and personalities in the fashion world, Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto (most notably of Y-3) and shoe brand Salvatore Ferragamo join up for a new collection of footwear set to begin in fall/winter of 2009-2010. The joint effort will pit the avant-garde and well documented innovation of Yamamoto with the iconic and traditional efforts of Salvatore Ferragamo. The collection will launch in early July with prices ranging from just under $500 USD all the way to approximately $1,000 USD.

Typical Yohji designs, as you can see from his recent Y3 collections, but still too funky for me. Like the other poster said, the collaboration itself sounds off the hook, but the results are a bit lacking and too runway for me. I’ll stick to Ferragamo drivers and lace-ups for now.
