A Bathing Ape head honcho, Nigo, gives a look into a personal KAWS painting of his. From the looks of it, the giant work seems to be a commissioned piece done up by the famed New York artist, KAWS. Check it out!

I like and hate kaws’ because, its so simple, but yet so brilliant. It makes me angry when i see his pieces and i say to my self, “Why didnt i think of that” lol
    PS
They are not fluffy ears, they are cross bones.

Shananigans is 100% correct. Kaws is unoriginal at best. Idiots falling over themselves to praise this cack just because it’s from a “name they know” should open their eyes and take a good look at what this trash really is. You’re being taken for a ride.

Yea man Kaws is gone to the moon…homie is smack dab(in the middle) of the zeitgeist! It’s next to impossible for everday people to get his work. These days you gotta get work from the artist when they are “underground”….you know “slept on” status. Back in the day when he painted with T-dee he was just another “graff artist” that nobody paid attention too….then he got clever and started rockin the phone booths. Why do think the people in the advertsing world started collecting and smashing phone booths to get those advertising posters Kaws did…….

I guess he found his space.

Well, he does drop vinyl at most OF accounts so overpriced resells on ebay aren’t your only choice. The recent Warm Regards bar retailed for $90, which isn’t bad if you’re that big of a fan, but I didn’t see it as worth the cost when I rather buy an OF hat or T and a third for that much. Heck, I could get two 8″ Dunnies for that much! However, I do admit that stores with OF accounts are few and far in between.

i feel you man but the fact is street sells and street is a huge business right now. if you can’t afford it you should look elsewhere especially locally. the important thing is you buy something you like and not because it is worth money.

I feel you pissedoffsneakerhead. Everytime I see new artwork from him either it be a vinyl toy to big artwork pieces like that simpson one, I never get a good feeling inside because I know I will or anyone else will never be able to own his work. I think KAWS is really wanting to keep his work “underground”. Oh well I guess its always good to wish.

I LOVE KAWS, but I dont think Ill ever be able to own one of his pieces because of the crazy high price points. Nice stuff to look at though. Its just crazy to think that he’s a street artist and 90% of street artist fans (or what ever you like to call the art form) cannot afford these pieces because they have lost touch of where they came from. Im not hating on an artist making his money but it just doesnt seem right. You cant even get a KAWS vinyl for under a $1000.00, and he drops almost nothing new. Its one piece like every few months and only his friends and a few lucky people score them. The only place to get most of KAWS’ items are on ebay and that just supports the fake crap and overly inflated pricing. Afer a while I start to lose interest when I cant score an artists pieces or I keep trying and have no luck.
