The art world gave graffiti it's "15 minutes of fame'...in the 80's. It elevated a lot of kids....blew them up and dropped them like a hot potato...Kaws studied pop artists and nailed it. He has a style that "they"(public) feel comfortable buying into...the art was waiting on this....POP! I’m under no illusions….Kaws really got hot in Japan with the paintings….before then his paintings didn’t have this much exposure. The art world gave graffiti it’s “15 minutes of fame’…in the 80′s.
