For it’s first project of 2009, Mekanism has sought out American artist Josh Smith on this skate deck art project.

“For this project, Josh Smith decided to work on 200 skateboards. He started painting the bottom of all the boards with oil. Without any established composition or distinct guideline, Smith painted very spontaneously and with a great freedom the 200 pieces, as if, his only goal was to over them with oil.”

    someone give this guy some crayons and some paper and send him back to preschool and leave “skate art” to people that understand skateboarding and/or art. really tho… his goal was to do 200? what kinnda goal is that… i would take a show with one deck with something that didnt look like my lil sister did it than 200 decks that have been tanted by this hack motherfucker!
