i think it might be saying “ice cream is shit”

u know the brand ice cream is literally shit. even worse than bape. remember ice cream shoes 1st came out? man.. shoes is so crap that there is no creativity. and yet its at least 200$ a pair…

the best thing about art is how u interpret it. it really depends on u.

You haters, this is a world of consumerism. People have their right to spend their money on anywhere they want without you guys judging it. Do more and say less please

THIS IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF KAWS TAKING SOMETHING, FLIPPING IT AND MAKING IT HIS OWN. MICKEY MOUSE, THE SIMPSONS, OR DR.SLUMP..IT’S ALL THE SAME.. HE’S A ARTIST, A STREET-POP ARTIST IMO HE’S NOT SAYING HE THOUGHT ALL THIS SHIT UP. THIS ISN’T THE FIRST TIME KAWS HAS RELEASED THE SHIT ON A STICK, IT’S THE FIRST TIME IN VINYL..

BAPE IS SUPPOSEDLY A MEANING OF HOW PEOPLE WILL BUY ANYTHING AND BASICALLY THIS IS THE SAME, THAT DOESN’T MEAN IT’S NOT FUCKING HILARIOUS THOUGH

WHILE I WAS TURNED OFF BY THE ORIGINAL PRINT I FIND THIS VERY AWESOME AND WILL BE BUYING ALL 3 COLORWAYS… I WAS HOPING KAWS WOULD GET INTO ORIGINAL CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT BUT THATS A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY

KAWS must have forgot how it felt to be that “kid from jersey”. His prices are too fucking expensive. It’s sad that a normal person, living a normal life, that happens to like his art can’t even afford it. $75 for a t-shirt that you’ll probably misplace in the dryer or get armpit stains underneath it is crazy. KAWS, lower your prices or continue to eat a dick like the rest of the overpriced “artists”.

And to say we’re in a recession.

    Big ups to KAWS

Started out a kid form jersey, now has the streetwear game buying shit on a stick. Thats hustle. The irony of the price tag and the hype/limited-ness on this piece MAKES this piece.

Its funny because I think this is a double interpretation to the people. It shows how he feels about
his customers (dumb enough to buy anything he wipes his name with) and how he can put out the most stupid things and still get paid off of it. It is a quiet but loud insult I think; when is shit more expensive than clothing? In fact when did shit become costly? His message: “my shit is costly and people will buy my shit” Sadly, he’s right; I guess the shirt is there to wipe the shit off of people’s faces.

sucks…this is plagiarism, if you know the Japanese comic and animation Dr.Slump, which is from 1980s. original fake is really fake, i just don’t get these stuffs, take things from other people and just simply add the “XX” on…it may be meaningful at the begining, but if only keep doing the same stuffs with the same idea, this is meaningless…this is trash…

It’s art, whether you believe it to be or not.

Accept it. Respect it. Just as you would any piece hanging in a museum.

terrible..aboslutely terribe. i cant believe anyone would consider buying “shit on a stick”?? are you consumers all fucking stupid or what? There is a recession going on right now and you fools want to buy shit on a stick??? how about i actually shit on a stick and you can have it for free. shame on kaws

    “Ice Cream Bar vinyl toy”

What in the f’in hell is wrong with people.

  13. Posted by: csimH on January 23, 2009 at 3:41 pm

what’s funny and sad about this is that shows the stupidity of people. This is literally shit on a stick, and people are going buy it with it’s expensive price tag. The shirt is so standard and boring and should be at the most $35. This shows why people do stupid shit like this to get money; because people will buy it just because it is limited edition and by an artist or person that is famous. What’s ironic about street wear is that it is heavily expensive; how can a t-shirt be 80-100 dollars and the only thing it has is a circle on it? Some stuff is sweet but 99.9% is backed by a bullshit price many times.

You should try Miami in the Design District it should be able to find some stuff down there

  15. Posted by: UZI Z on January 23, 2009 at 2:56 pm

Lets see how much resellers price this shit on a stick..

  16. Posted by: pissedoffsneakerhead on January 23, 2009 at 2:35 pm

Does anyone know anywhere in Florida that would sell Kaws’s stuff? The only place I can find anything is ebay and Im not dropping $1000.00 on a vinyl figure.

I think these bad boys will sellout only because of the KAWS name. The vinyl figure itself doesnt stand up so how do you display this and its really pricey for what you get.
