Shaping up to be another good year for New York-based pop artist KAWS, we catch a glimpse of the latest project involving his label OriginalFake and legendary denim specialist Levi’s. Utilizing his signature teeth graphic, KAWS implements it within the jacket’s pocket flaps and once again on the back pocket of the denim jeans. The set will be available soon at both OriginalFake and Levi’s flagship locations in Japan. Retail for the denim jeans and denim jacket will be ¥34,650 (Approx. $389 USD) a piece.

    The jacket belongs on a Dr. Suess character. The jeans are nice but only nice if only one pocket has the teeth, but judging by the horrible design of the jacket I’m only guessing the jeans were ruined also. Since I won’t spend $400 on them I won’t even bother looking them up to find out.

    Jeans are nice but why after two years of teeth and x’s hasn’t kaws got a mindblowing design to reuse?

    agreed ntg…the teethchomping thing just doesn’t do it for me and the double x’s on the hoodies look like two titties to me. to drop 4hunski on denim…i have alot of other choices like apc, sugar cane or even some levis lvc. it’s to matchy for me whether kaws is doing it or anybody else. i just might laugh at the dude who wears a matching jacket and jeans. garanimals!!! match the tags kids.

    I LOVE KAWS!!, but this is not a good collab. the jeans are just ok and the jacket looks horrible.

    KAWS needs more clothing ideas besides the chomper pattern and the “x”s. I hope he doesnt overplay it to much, but its getting close.

    I find myself saying, if only the teeth pattern weren’t on them. The pattern may be art, but it doesn’t work in this instance. Good try though Levi’s. A different pattern is needed but right idea.

    Agreed. They’re a bit silly looking and you really have to have a certain swagger to pull these off without looking like a goofy clown. Kaws needs to stick with what he’s done in the past season and the upcoming one, there’s a lot of golden pieces in those collections that are more wearable and versatile (particularly that NH x OF capsule!). This outfit would make you look like a really hungry cowboy.
