Presenting their genuine passion for Americana inspired design, contemporary Japanese label N.Hoolywood hook up with Hamilton on a simple yet elegant timepiece. Known for their distinct brand of watches, Hamilton holds a rich history extended all the way back to 1892. Together both companies design a military inspired watch for N. Hoolywood’s 2009 Spring/Summer line of accessories. The piece will be available at their flagship store Mister Hollywood in Japan, this coming May for a retail price of ¥94,500 (Approx. $1,058 USD).

Oh and don’t get me wrong, Hamilton makes a great watch. But I’m sayin’, why buy this when you can get a perfectly servicable GG-W-113, which is the watch this is pretending to be, for a quarter of the price? Yes, the 113 is a hand-crank, slower-beat movement. But it was designed for the field. It’s a workhorse movement in a workhorse watch. This thing is bullshit fashion for fashionistas. Sorry.

Xtgxtreme, I’ll eat my shirt if this thing has a 7750 in it. Why would they put a chrono movement into a non-chrono watch? I’m guessing an undecorated 2824-2.

And presuming I’m right, for that movement, spending just over a grand, I’ll take the far better looking Sinn 656 with a screwdown crown, AR-coated sapphire crystal, etc.

And if I wanted a 7750, I’d look at an Archimede Pilot chrono, a Sinn 356, or a Damasko DC57.

Or better yet, I’d skip the ebauche chrono bullshit and get a Nomos Tangomat with an in-house movement. Any of the above would come in under $3k; some are even under $1500.

Yeah, I’m a watch lover. And a cheap one to boot. I can’t imagine that a real watch nut would shell out $3k for a plain-vanilla 7750 in a fashion-watch case.

Are you guys serious? That’s pretty cheap for a good watch, but for 1K I imagine it can’t have a good movement if it’s even mechanical. Hamilton’s considered quite entry level, a daily driver watch if you will. They’re quite good deals in general, giving you a Valjoux 7750 (think Rolex, Panerai, Cartier, ad nauseam) movement and badass all black stealth trendy bigface ninja-ness for only 3K with the belowZERO.

Watchlover, you’re obviously not a watch lover if that’s your budget jk ^_~

Nice looking Hammy. I like the slender type, though I’m confused by the use of 12-o’clock triangles for each hour. The whole idea of a single triangle at 12 is to make it possible to read the watch in the dark using its lume. This defeats that purpose.

I’m not sure I’d be willing to spend more than five times the cost of a GG-W-113, the obvious design inspiration for this watch…
