With all the growing resurgence surrounding bikes, the concept of various “mutant bike clubs” have taken a different approach to your familiar two-wheeled form of transportation. For many of these clubs, they approach bikes as more then just a utilitarian form of transport but rather a workable piece of art and engineering which push the boundaries of convention. To further enhance the experience of their hack-job bikes, these clubs often host various bike-related events such as rodeos and jousting competitions, creating an interactive exhibition as many people take a spin on the ride’s of others. A recent spot on the whole movement was produced via Make Magazine as they followed the exploits of Cyclecide. Other clubs along the same tip include C.H.U.N.K. 666 and Black Label. Also seen here is photography of some of these events courtesy of Tod Seelie (seen here also).
