I took pictures like this with my first Polaroid cam before I was even introduced to art.

If someone else had snapped these 30~ years ago you’d all be singing a different tune. Just because it’s Andy Warhol doesn’t mean it’s amazing… These are shit. Totally uninspiring.

Warhol is a non-artist. The photos are dull and bland, just like the man himself.

If these images weren’t Andy Warhol’s, I’m sure that they would worth nothing!

so what if the picture quality isnt as good as what is available now? It is art, not an advertisement for polaroid cameras. With that attitude you might as well just say that artists like monet and van gogh were shit too just because their paintings were blurry or unrealistic compared to what a 24 megapixel digital camera could do today. Thats a given! But im pretty sure the gallery isn’t featuring the photos because of the technology but because andy warhol is a very important modern artist who has had an influence on tons of other artists and his fans might want to see these polaroids.

Tim, comparing pictures taken in the year 2009 and back between 1977 and 1983 is beyond retarded. It’s like comparing apples and oranges.

It’s art. There is no right or wrong. These are absolutely amazing! It’s even more amazing now that Polaroid is gone. It’s a lost art form.

These were done before most of us were born. Most of the companys that post their product shots on this site go for this look. The man was ahead of the curb.

First of all Andy Warhol has inspired MANY artist of today and I am completely confident in saying that art would not be like it is now without his input in the art world. And there is no comparison to these photographs and those of today….
