Fred Perry is an Iconic brand, another original brand with 5 decades of history. Fred Perry himself was world tennis champion in 1928 and in 1952 started making the slim-fit tennis shirts that were revolutionary at the time.
A few decades later, his clothes became the uniform for original street cultures in the UK such as Mods and Skinheads. Fred Perry has maintained its connection with culture as well as sport, and do alot of contemporary collabos.
The most famous collabo is with Comme des Garçons, but they even let Staple Design in on a piece. They have an extensive music part of their site, and have a small feature on a ska-punk group, staying true to their original fan base that rmade them famous. Check out a sneak preview of the newest Fred Perry X Comme des Garçons destined for release very soon in Spring ’08.
