Reigning NBA MVP and 10-time All-Star Kobe Bryant officially unveiled his fourth signature model in the Nike Zoom Kobe line. The new low cut design, weighing in at 11.6 ounces, is Nike’s lightest basketball sneaker ever created. Designed by the legendary Eric Avar, the Zoom Kobe IV isn’t as visually appealing as the innovative Hyperdunk model but packs a punch when it comes to performance footwear. The IV utilizes their signature Flywire technology, a performance architecture that uses thin and very strong nylon fibers to support the foot, within the uppers. Also included will be a heel Zoom Air unit, full-length Phylon midsole and LunarLite forefoot foam, the most innovative cushioning system since Nike Air returning energy upon every step rather than absorbing energy. The Nike Zoom Kobe IV is scheduled for a Januray 1st, 2009 release and throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe beginning early February 2009.

Looks like the Lebron VI’s fused with the Hyperdunks. They are too low for basketball, no matter what because they dont provide ankle support. I’m 6′5,and ankle support is what I need.

yeah…I wouldn’t play in these unless I could get my ankles taped up nice, every time I played ball. But I suspect most wouldn’t ball in these anyways. I won’t, but they will be copped in one of the black colorways

I’ll cop, but I much rather play in the kobe 3 ST. Last low cut shoe I balled in was the T-MAC 2s……..and I broke my ankle :(

They look better than the ZKIII (what were they thinking?!), but I still like the Hyperdunks better. I’m assuming they play about as well as the Hyperdunks–the set–up’s pretty much the same except for the heel Zoom Air–but with the lower cut, they probably have less ankle support (duh!) . . .
