Forming his first sneaker sole out of a waffle maker with a batter comprised of liquid urethane, Nike founder Bill Bowerman, would eventually lead a revolutionary movement in sportswear with the creation of his Waffle Trainer platform in 1974. Paying homage to the historic occasion, Nike Sportswear gets set to release a playful commemorative set of “waffle” windrunners. The jackets come in two colorways with an obvious waffle silhouette along the uppers and Nike badging in the form of butter, all packaged in a special box set.
