New Balance have stepped up their game in 2008 with a flurry of collaborations and special releases. Keeping in tune with their latest trend, we get a look at the A16 model done up in buttery blue and khaki suede colorways. Aside from the nicely executed uppers are exceptional intricate detailing including a woven brothel creeper like toebox with leather piping. Although both models are samples, they are now available for pre-order at atmos Japan with the final product outcome not expected to vary much from is initial stage.

NB is on a roll lately. These are awesome. They’re really setting themselves apart from the rest of the pack.

Thanks for pointing that out man, it was in the back of my mind but I couldn’t nail down where the style originated.

Certainly a nice contemporary interpretation from New Balance, glad you see those qualities in the sneakers as i definitely appreciated the craftsmanship details like these.

    Have a good one!

Actually the stitching is not taken from moccasins but from the classic “brothel creeper” shoe that was popular with punks and rockabillies. This is a very witty post-modern design, slyly incorporating classic punk style with new sneaker fetishism.
