You’ve probably already heard the leak tracks from Kanye West’s new album, 808s & Heartbreak. Whether or not you like his new musical approach, the album will be dropping next week on November 24th, 2008. For the iTunes release of 808s & Heartbreak, Brooklyn based artist KAWS has created a special a special album cover as well as some album art. Check it out after the jump.

How does one buy the Kanye album with the KAWS cover? I heard something about a Dec 16th release but I never saw it in stores.

I dig kayne’s music….Kaws is gone to the moon. I kinda like what he did as an artist….it’s like forget the graf community…I’m going pop(lol) He dropped every ounce of pride and is moving forward. Hopefully he won’t be the general of a small army of biters…I’m just waiting…as an artist I don’t want to be the first to do it. Hip- Hop has formula and not too many are thinking outside the box…I hope the visual arts never get like that!

Only a die hard fan could like this album. I am glad I downloaded it on a torrent and did not bUy it as it is frankly just weird. He needs to get back to what he does best and not get so far up his own ass that he see’s any half hearted attempt at making an album is “art” just cause he made it. I have not heard anything this poor since the RZA made Bobby Digital years ago (similarly poor effort). Just cause you are real famous does not mean that anything you make is good – this most certainly isn’t. For those of you who disagree – get real with yourselves.

Okay then feller, tell me what’s original now. I could say the same thing for any other band that hasn’t completely created a new genre. What constitutes as original now? Scat/beatbox/rap/chant? Sometimes you should just stick to what you know; Kanye is a HIP/HOP ARTIST and he’s going towards a different approach to his music. I really don’t understand how you can call him unoriginal. Also, any indie group is singing the same thing, just using different instruments. Plus, at least he’s not singing about his bitches and money on this one.

Looks like a giant pair of ball sacks cuddling Mr West to me. Ever realized that whenever Kaws is not using someone else’s art (Simpsons, Family Guy etc etc. ), he can’t even draw a cartoon hand properly. Anyway, keep believing the hype! Shame for all the real talented people pout there!!!

I respect Kanye and his music/talent. But be foreal, for those that KNOW. If anything Pharell was one of the first “mainstream” artist/producer’s into the whole japanese slim fit/ skater look.
If it were not for money (as with all of us) Kanye wouldnt know half the shit he is wearing/ talking about, with his so called eccentric style. My reason for saying its the money is because things are affordable plus your accepted around certain crowds…

I like the whole KAWS idea, but throwing a few X’s on some normal stuff is getting annoying. Unfortunately I’m outnumbered by all the kaws riders in the US.

Kanye is one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time, he is also a style icon and a true artist….but this album fukking sucks balls!!
Not for nothing but, Kanye is the biggest hypebeast. He’s bringing everything mainstream.. however it will open new oportunities for smaller companies looking to make a name… once everyone is tired of looking at what he is doing (which hopfully come sooner than later)

anyone who is an artist or musician can tell you even the simplest songs take so much work and effort. the fact you can’t accept that he has a new direction, dont hate it. only respect him for what he does, you dont need to give him props. but whats the point of hating on someone like that.
