DDCLAB x New Balance “The Reflective 420″
by Eugene Kan, November 8, 2008

While regular 3M has been the familiar standard for reflective materials, New York based DDCLAB and its founder’s Savania Davies-Keiller and Robert Crivello have maintained a penchant for discovering and sourcing new technical fabrics; The result speaks for itself with this New Balance collaboration. Utilizing the slim profile of the 420, almost the entire upper is created in a special Schoeller-Reflex material comprised of microscopic pieces of glass beads. The result is an ultra brilliant and reflective material which also features a strong protection against the elements and scuffs and offering visibility up to 100 meters (approximately 328 feet) away.

always great to see innovation in fabric, this isn’t just an all 3m shoe, its 3m with cordura and polyester. Not as big of a fan of this model this seems to be a similar silhouette to the nike elite but not as hot in my opinion. I’d rather see the 580 too.
Wasn’t the Alife x New Balance 576 going to be an al 3m shoe? http://hypebeast.com/2007/08/alife-x-new-balance-3m-reflective-576-scrapped/
I would rather see that come to life than the 420. Hell make it a mt580 and I’m sold.
i’ll bet this is why nb scrapped their 3m sneaker last year… so dope.
down as fuck
where 2 cawp?!
THose are dope def cop…
DDC LAB hasn’t designed anything good in 6 years and now New Balance is giving them a sneaker. WOW straight to Centry 21
