Seymour Chwast x Freshjive “McBush” T-shirt

October 13, 2008Uncategorizedby Eugene Kan6 Views

Few have reached the heights of Seymour Chwast in the graphic design realm. Co-founder of Push Pin Studios with Milton Glaser and Edward Sorel, Chwast has created a special t-shirt for Freshjive titled “McBush” which plays into the current presidential race. Chwast’s rise started in the 1950s as the artist brought forth a style which emphasized “a playful expressive approach to type and layout based on revivalism… a radical alternative to the Swiss formalism at the time.” Furthermore, his sense of concept and design meshed with his humor-based approach would work well together as Push Pin Studio sought to re-vitalize the relationship of illustration and design. Chwast’s success have been widely documented in numerous publications with the artist taking an active stance in expressing his political and social views via his iconic style. This t-shirt available now, is the first of a few designs from Chwast for Freshjive’s “World Problems” collection of t-shirts. Proceeds from this shirt will be donated to the Barack Obama campaign.

I’m no repub, but the above poster is right. Many democrats in congress voted for Bush’s policies but you dont really hear anyone acusing them of being Bush cronies. And yet, the “geniuses” in the entertainment and fashion industries eat it up and accept it as truth. All politicians are in for themselves anyway. People, read some books or articles written by academics or anyone with a brain, then form your own opinion. Do you really want some moron like Kanye or P.Diddy tell you how to vote?

This shirt is proof of the ignorance people choose to display, and how many automatically believe what they hear. Read into your actions first….. Anyone who does the research will see that McCain and Bush differ greatly in many policies.
