Our weekly top picks featuring our selection of the best ten stories of the week. Check out what we picked and why we picked it after the jump!

Phenomenon M-65 vs. MA-1 Jacket

Two styles of the military world which been adopted heavily for civilian use, the Phenomenon M-65 vs. MA-1 is ironic hybrid approach given the numerous instances we’ve seen throughout the footwear market. Yet, not sure if this will catch on the same way it does for footwear given how footwear design itself references styles which are usually symbolic of one brand.

Silas x Amos Toys Martin X Vinyl

Amos Toys has consistently put out a great series of well-executed toys which feature a strong background to them. Given their previous ties with Silas, this Martin X vinyl for Silas’ 10 year anniversary is definitely not a surprise.

“Cover Band” Exhibition

Given the remarkable ability for music to touch people of numerous backgrounds and cultures, this upcoming “Cover Band” exhibition should provide something that any number of attendees can relate to. The updated cover art is a good way to pay tribute to what was once a much more powerful force in the music industry.

Buzz Rickson x Porter “William Gibson” Collection

The reproduction flight jacket brand Buzz Rickson in itself is known for a true otaku philosophy leaving no stone un-turned in its never-ending pursuit of creating contemporary versions of flight jackets from dog-fights of years gone by. It comes as no surprise a great deal of attention is paid to Buzz Rickson’s collaboration with Porter on the “William Gibson” collection as the earthy tones are seen with BR’s popular horse leather detailing.

Rome SDS x Consolidated Skateboards Libertine Drunk

Once again Consolidated Skateboards is up to their own running commentary of Nike, this time regarding Nike’s recent foray into the snowboarding arena. The statement is an interesting one which arguably draws the battle lines between the involvement of big corporations in skating and snowboarding against the grass roots levels of these sports.

Lupe Fiasco x PRODUCT (RED) Converse Chuck Taylor Low

Converse has been putting out numerous stellar releases this year for their 100th anniversary and probably done the greatest job of any “sneaker-related” anniversary project in recent memory. Despite this Chuck Taylor created by Lupe being slated for 2009, Converse seems to be well on their way to carrying this momentum into the next year.

DVS Feature: HUF x Mighty Healthy Collaboration

In a time when the internet didn’t exist and nobody ran to update their blog or upload their digital cam pictures, Ray Mate of Mighty Healthy and Keith Hufnagel of HUF did what they knew best. The culmination of a great friendship in this project definitely deserves its shine.

Cause Size Zip High

Thankfully being produced on a high-top, the Cause Side Zip does a world of convenience with the simple diagonal zipper. The shoe itself is subtly designed but then again black shoes rarely require a lot of effort to make them work.

Cassette Navaho Denim

Largely seen only on brands like Evisu and their painted Daicocks and Fenom with the fragment bolt logo, good to see Cassette apply a little screen-printing in abstract form on their Navaho denim. Given the relative difficulty in creating a differing product when it comes to denim, these little touches are a welcome addition.
