Among the marquee items in CLOT’s 2008 fall/winter C.S.A. collection is this upcoming collaborative effort with popular handmade sunglasses manufacturer Dita. Linking up with the Japanese division of Dita, CLOT joints the ranks of Hysteric Glamour, Under Cover and the forthcoming Neighborhood as collaborators. The C.S.A. Midnight Special features a titanium frame to provide a lightweight fit with anodized red seen throughout. CLOT’s trademark silk touches are also implemented with a red silk dustbag. The sunglasses will be available on October 6th at JUICE and CLOTinc.com with a suggested price of $6800 HKD (approximately $875 USD).

Actually, get your facts straight. We developed the Red Midnight Special for Lupe and Kanye’s “Glow in the Dark Tour”. The Lupe frames had Black Temple tips and D.Grey Gradient lenses, we only produced 10 of them. Our CLOT collaboration was an spin off of the Lupe frame, we added D.Tortoise Temple Tips, D.Brown Gradient Lenses and the CLOT lens etching to separate the two from each other…

So these are basically the Lupe limited version of the Midnight Specials with a logo on the right lens..

I bought the black Midnights off of Dita and was a bit let down with how they looked in person as to what they looked like on their web site.

So I went to Heidioptics here in Pittsburgh and they had the silver/gun metal version and they were night and day better than the blacks, so I bought them and returned the blacks.

    Very nice craftsmanship all around.
