Steve Powers | “Separating Light from Dark” Exhibit
by L.A. Ruano, September 11, 2008

Launching yesterday was Steve Powers aka ESPO’s latest show titled, Separating Light from Dark.Taking place at the Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan, Powers showcased his signature 50’s inspired advertising signage artwork. The show ultimately refers its title to a biblical passage from the book of Genesis, where God separates light from darkness. Always one to amuse, the title refers to the task of separating those pearly whites from darks when doing laundry as well. With a playful and peculiar approach at times, Powers gives the audience a moral meaning behind his work, much like the recent controversial, yet entertaining Waterboard Thrill Ride. The exhibition will remain open until October 31st, 2008.
