With only a few seasons under the belt, Nike Sportswear has evolved leaps and bounds. While initial releases looked to just be more technically advanced pieces which were based predominately on vintage styles and silhouettes from Nike archives, their 2008 fall/winter collection looks to break free from the constraints of inaugural collections. We can only assume that is was Nike’s direction all along to make the jump to apparel which features products outside the tradition realm of Nike apparel. As consumers get a solid understanding of the NSW design ethos for featuring cutting edge design and technology, Nike can begin to work away from Windrunners and traditional footwear offerings and venture deeper into unchartered territory as a look into their upcoming collection does exactly that. Visibly apparent for their apparel are unbranded jackets of a more refined nature as well as the debut of mountaineering inspired footwear, the Air Magma.
