Nike SB Air Zoom Tre A.D. “McFly”

Posted by: Eugene Kan / September 24, 2008 / 16 Comments

Capitalizing further on the fame of the whole Nike Mag which was an influential prop in the movie Back to the Future II, the concept is set for another return. Initially Nike applied the Marty McFly-worn Nike Mag colorway on the flagship basketball shoe, the Hyperdunk. Allegedly in the works is the same application on one of Nike’s most advanced skate shoes, the Air Zoom Tre A.D. The colorway works unsurprisingly well on the Tre as it features the same gray uppers albeit with less prominent use of blue. Like the Hyperdunk, the Tre also glows in the dark as the Swoosh becomes illuminated in low-light situations. A release date has been slated for Holiday 2008.

This pisses me off. Its a fuckin tease, they should just release the hyperdunks as regular quick strikes. I mean really they’re just trying to get people to buy an ok model SB shoe. Honestly who has looked twice at the Tre A.D. before this post? It’s a smart move on their part but wtf bring out the hyperdunk.

I actually like the Tre AD in real life. I bought a pair of regular zoom tre’s when they came out and they were very comfy and skateable but I didn’t really like them from a stylish standpoint. Then the a.d. came out and I was like these are sick. I actually like the way the McFly colorway is presented on this model better than on the hyperdunk. Thats just me though.

I think this is more of MArty’s shoe than the Hyperdunks because these are skate shoes and not basketball shoes. Marty McFly loves skateboarding
