KICKS/HI Opening in Guam

KICKS/HI are set to make their mark on the island of Guam as the island will represent the third such KICKS/HI store when it debuts on September 26th. Probably not your first choice for a new storefront however KICKS/HI’s Guam location joins a strong fellow contingency of store’s including St. Alfreds, Leilow and the two other present KICKS/HI stores. The store opens September 26th at Tumon Bay, Guam.

    honestly haters are guna hate straight up… i was there at kicks/hi+gu and the the vibe from the store and workers were extremely great! i myself enjoyed being there and plan to return at least twice a week.
    the store has every right to not allow you to take pictures.. you never know you might be tryna open up your shop and jock them who knows…
    and you prob got bad service cuz you were stuck up…and rude..idk wuts your deal..
    but yeah kicks/hi+gu, hater are guna hate and jus brush em off! keep doin wut you guys doin…you guys are holdin it down for guam!

I am sorry that they hassled you about taking picture, but this is our policy, due to the fact that competition on island, or potential competition can be rough.     Being an avid hip-hop supporter I decided to check out this new sneaker shop from Hawaii, KICKS/HI (which I never heard an advertisement about until hypebeast). I must admit it is definitely sneaker head heaven. Unfortunately while browsing the shop I never got so much as a “Can I help you with anything?” from any of the employees as they seemed to cater more to tourists. So I departed the store and as I do every new store I decided to take a photo of the shop’s sign from the outside to remember its name for my critiques. Upon doing so I was finally approached by an over tweezed employee outside informing me that I was “not allowed to take photos” and he doesn’t know why, but “you just can’t”. Now, I’d understand if I was photographing merchandise from inside the store, but that was certainly not the case. You’d think since the shop just opened the day before that they’d welcome any kind of publicity to spread the word of its arrival on island even if it is just a photo of it’s sign showing it’s new location. So my final critique – The actual store its self with a plethora of sneakers and hip-hop gear to choose from is a great addition to Guam’s growth into the hip-hop culture. Unfortunately if you look local you might want to try the local Footlocker whose employees are little friendlier to local customers.
