Calling both the cultural meccas of Brooklyn and Tokyo home, this theme features prominently in Japanese artist Aiko’s latest solo show “SHUT UP & LOOK” as she injects elements of femininity, form and character. As a founding member of FAILE collective, this is her first solo show with a goal to “explore the themes of romance, morality, and religion that were at times, only glimmers within those formerly pooled images” through numerous mediums such as stenciling, brushwork and spray-paint. Her aim to re-interpret the concept of urban decay and street art is available for viewing now at the Brooklynite Gallery.
