British artist Julian Opie is highly regarded for the wide range of mediums used within his artwork, best known for using bold lines and vibrant colors on simple images. Ranging from sculptures to paintings and even photography, Opie is artistically multi-faceted. Having shown small exhibitions in the past, this will be the first large upscale show taking place at The Contemporary Art Gallery, Art Tower Mito in Japan. Over 70 of Opies current works will be showcased including themes such as landscapes inspired by Japanese Ukiyo-e (woodblock printing), family portraits and even outdoor animals. This exhibition is currently underway until October 5th 2008.
