18 innovators from across the globe were given an opportunity to create their own Air Force 1 in the Nike 1World project. Previous collaborators for June included Pedro Winter, Rasheed Wallace, and Gore Texer. Now, the artist KAWS has revealed his collaboration with Nike on his blog at Honeyee. We assume that KAWS’ Air Force 1 will be for the month of July so look for these to drop very soon.

And for the guy who said theyre bland… you can only do so much with a model of a shoe, all they are asking for is that the artist color it in a style unique to them.. and air force ones have come out in almost every color imaginable, so im quite impressed how he made these colors on this shoe look unique, with out going over the top, wont buy these though, but nice shoe.

I mean, sure he came up with that one GENERIC skull and crossbones image (skull and crossbones were played out by the 1700’s), and that lame stitching (x’s, or crossbones, are omnipresent in his “artwork”) only reminds me of the Greedy Genius’ that are blatant rip-offs of the AF1’s. Honeyee rules, KAWS is probably a cool guy, but he needs some new ideas. “this shoe is the epitome of kaws,”- exactly my point, if the epitome of your style is putting “x’s” on something that already exists, you should probably make an actual piece of artwork before i respect your “work.”

Ripping Disney characters is not cool anymore (actually it has no being cool since 5 years ago!)
