Bape Harajuku Store

The new Bape Harajuku store which opened up in January is another masterpiece from the design firm Wonderwall. On the Wonderwall site, they state:

“For the Bape store, after discussions with Nigo, we decided to create a store that felt like a town within a building with an American diner flair. However, for the top floor, a sense of playfulness was added with a colonial style resort inspired space.”

when i visited this store…surprisingly it looked out of place. very Mid-West diner meets East Coast country club….in a very ultra-modern metropolis.

the other thing that really surprised me…since they moved the store to a new (bigger) location, it’s still located in a very easy to find place, yet all the HK kids were having a really hard time finding it. uhhhh…it’s exactly behind Omotesando Hills.
